STEPPIN' B
Brian Patterson was born and raised on the Westside of Chicago, the city from which Steppin
evolved. When Brian was very young he would listen and dance to the sweet sounds of R&B oldies such as the Whispers, The Stylistics, and Dramatics.
In 1995 Brian (nationally known as “Steppin’ B”) would go into the Steppers clubs watching the club goers dance and
sway to the music that he loved. It was then that he discovered that he was able to quickly mimic this dance. In 1998,
he pursued Daryl Davis and L.C. Henderson, to whom he became an assistant. This world-renowned dance form of
Steppin’ became the passion in his soul and overtime Brian developed his own unique signature movement and style,
therefore mastering the art of Steppin’.
In 2006 “Steppin’ B” stepped out on faith and landed in the heart of Los Angeles which is where he now resides. He
admits “I had the opportunity to relocate and teach what I love to do and the ideal weather makes Steppin’ here a year
round venue”. Having been acclaimed for his “Steppin’ B Workshop” classes, Brian’s focus is on educating and
demonstrating the basic fundamentals of Steppin’. He is passionate about teaching, exemplifying patience to train any
race, gender or age. Being an enthusiastic stepper and instructor, he has shown that he is a Master as a professional
consultant for those who want to train or prepare for competition.
Brian offers private and group workshops for a range of community businesses including corporations, colleges and
schools, both private and inner-city. His classes are held in Los Angeles and surrounding areas. Being influenced by
the way of tradition, Brian also offers his talents for special occasions such as weddings and family reunions.
“It’s FAST, QUICK and EASY to learn. You will find this class exciting and fun!! It is guaranteed to keep

rewards of Steppin’ just as he was given the opportunity. With the growing popularity of Steppin’ spreading across the
country, even reaching other parts of the world, “Steppin B” is convinced that he can take this phenomenal dance form
to a global audience.
Assuring his steppin’ techniques goes down in history, “Steppin B” journeys across the country and around the world
teaching this smooth sultry dance. To say the least, he reaches out to may cities, from his hometown of Chicago to Los
Angeles. Other various cities he travels to include, but are not limited to, Atlanta, Seattle Washington, Phoenix,
Indianapolis, Detroit, Cleveland, Oakland, Winston Salem and Raleigh North Carolina in addition to international travel

“Steppin B’s” efforts and accomplishments in the “World Of Steppin’” are not taken lightly. His hard work has landed
him in the spotlight of working and collaborating with an array of celebrities such as R. KELLY in which he was
featured in the video “Happy People” and LALAH HATHAWAY’s video “Let Go”. He appeared as a Guest on “The
